[Structured KP] Difference between synonims, item childs and sibling

Hello,
i'm using PM 4.6 on mac os X.6.6

In the structured keyword pannel, could you explain me the difference between a "normal" item child and un Sibling item  ?

A child item is one level 'deeper' than its parent item.  A sibling is an item created at the same level as the item.
