Hello,
A month ago I upgraded to a new Win 7 64-bit, i7, 12 gb ram PC.
Rather than transfer Photo Mechanic from old to new PC, I downloaded Photo Mechanic version 4.6.5 to a solid state drive reserved for software.
I also have PhotoShop CS, Lightroom 3, Capture NX2 and have just started to try and develop the best workflow.
With only Photo Mechanic open the first thing I tried was to delete an image from a folder of jpgs and nefs stored on an external drive, a five-year old Seagate. If I highlight an image, right click, hit delete, up pops a dialog box.... requesting administrative permission to delete the file, hit continue to get....do you want to allow the following program to make changes to your computer....hit yes or no to get...recycling box, click on more details to find that ....items remaining zero, speed- zero items per second. When I try to close PM, a server busy box...action can not be completed-other program busy. Click on switch to, the box closes and my original contact sheet restored.
I have a copy of this folder an an internal hard drive where at least the delete process is working fine.
I have half a dozen older external hard drives that I need to work on, that I had no problem with on the old computer with an older version of Photo Mechanic.
Did I miss something on a Preference setting somewhere, or what?
Thanks
Paul
