Tags saved to IPTC or Metadata?
« on: June 23, 2011, 11:00:35 PM »
I use PM for ingesting and first round editing. I have been using the PM "Tag" feature to mark my selects. I also have PM create an XMP sidecar on ingest.

From what I can tell, the PM Tag is not saved anywhere obvious in the metadata (like rating or color class). I would like to use this so I can filter images using tags in other applications like Bridge or Capture One.

I am still back on version 4.5.4. - Is this a feature in 4.6.x?

There is no cross-application 'Tag' in XMP.  Even Lightroom's 'Flag' isn't represented in XMP.

Bummer.

Guess I can work around by color coding tagged images, but it's one extra step.

Worse problem I just discovered is that Capture One Pro seems to completely overwrite the XMP file in some cases. Still trying to sort out if I can deal with that or not.
