Cropping in Preview Mode
« on: November 08, 2006, 12:25:49 PM »
I have been using PM for almost a year now, and have a question about cropping in Preview Mode and have not found it through searching the forums. I am trying to find out if there is an easier way.

I have my default crop size set for 3x2 and it automatically defaults to the opposite of the orientation of the picture. (Example, If I have vertical picture, the crop changes to 3x2 for a horizontal crop. If I have a horizontal Picture, it changes to 2x3 for a vertical crop).
I enjoy this feature, but occasionally I want to keep the same format and just crop tighter, but I have to go over, click the switch button, then go and crop.

Is there a keypress that I can use to switch the crop orientation? I have not been able to find anything on that, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I am using a MacBookPro running OSX.4 and PM 4.4.3.3.

Thank you in advance,

Josh McLear

There is currently no keyboard shortcut for swapping the crop.  We could add one in a future version.

Thanks for the feedback,

-Kirk

Folks -

I know this is an old thread, but couldn't find anything that said that a keystroke option has been added.  Would speed up editing considerably if you could hold a key (Apple Key for instance) that would switch the crop orientation without having to move your mouse and click on the "<->" button.

Any update would be appreciated.

Thanks!

It will be completely unnecessary in the upcoming PM5 version.  It autosenses the orientation you're trying to draw and switches it automatically.
