DVD Burn Verify Takes A Very Long Time

I'm running the latest version of PM (can't check the number because the burn verify has been running for about a half-hour and is only 70% done). OS is Windows 7 Pro. The DVD drive is ATAPI iHAS222-8.

Yesterday I had the same problem - verify taking forever. So, I canceled, thinking I'd just cancel the verify. But, nope, after waiting forever, I came away with an unreadable DVD.

These burns were attempts to burn images from two folders (loaded into one Contact Sheet, per info in this forum).

Thoughts? What do I check next?

Total time of burn and verify (210 files, 584 MB) was 40 minutes. Not acceptable.

Frank,

If you burn files to the same DVD drive with some other software, does it burn quickly and verify quickly as well?
