Version 4 Clean Up
« on: August 08, 2012, 12:03:12 AM »
I have Version 5 installed and I am running with it. I uninstalled 4.9 and everything is fine.
However in the add programs I still have several versions of prior installations showing up. Is there a utility to get rid of all the old stuff that is no longer needed?
I would appreciate it.

Showing up where?  What OS are you running?  Can you post a screen shot?  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your JPEG format screenshot.

Thanks,

Here are the screen shots that I thought may be helpful. If you need any additional information please let me know.

The OS is Windows ver 7.

If you try and uninstall each of the older versions by right-clicking on them one-by-one and choosing Uninstall/Change, do they not remove themselves?

No they will not remove themselves. The log file is missing is the error message I get.

Hmm.  We'll have to do some digging and find out where to go next.

I also observed this phenomenon on my Win7 x64 quite long ago. I just told myself to ignore the old entries.

Microsoft has an app for that...

Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall/

A disclaimer, I have not used this new tool but used the previous one successfully.

BE FOREWARNED - you need to be careful when using it if is like the old tool!
