JPG ex PM 4.6.9 generates invalid colour format error in CNX2

This evening I noticed a quirk with PM generated JPGs when loaded into Nikon CNX2.

NEF images "Saved as..." a JPG (converted to sRGB and using the embedded JPG) with PM 4.6.9 generates an invalid color format error when attempting to load the resultant JPG image in CNX2.

Whereas the same JPG generated by CNX using "Saved as ..." (with sRGB embedded) loads fine.

This is not part of my work flow so is of little consequence to me.

However I thought it was worth reporting.

Peter,

The issue is with the 'Photo Mechanic Image Preferences' data that PM appends to the end of JPEG files.  It is completely harmless but the latest versions of Capture NX2 have an issue with them.  You can use the 'Delete Metadata' command on the Tools menu to remove this data and then your JPEGs saved from PM will open up in Capture NX2 just fine.
