IPTC Stationery Pad: date always ticked on opening
« on: August 27, 2012, 12:29:58 PM »
When I re-open the stationery pad, shouldn't the settings be as per the previous use, so that you can hit Apply again with the same settings?  I find that mostly they are, but the Date field is always ticked on re-opening, with a setting of "11/10/2008 Capture Time".  Should this happen?  Not sure how many times I've applied this Date to images, not realising that the field had been ticked without my knowledge... will it have done?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

If you simply change the date or uncheck the Date field and close and reopen it, do your changes stick?

Hi Kirk

OK...

I find this happening at least when I load a preset in the Stationery Pad (the preset has Date unticked).  I Apply that preset to the selected images, and then when I re-open the Stationery Pad, the Date field is suddenly ticked.

Now, I notice that this doesn't happen with all my presets, so here is an example of one where it DOES happen:

Name: Clear Rating and Colour
Color Class ticked and set to "0"
Rating ticked and set to "No Stars"
Everything else blank and/or unticked (Date has a date of 11/10/2008 -- where does that come from?? -- but is unticked)

Hope you can reproduce this at your end?

Mike

P.S. Incidentally, when set to Capture Time, it's a bit disconcerting having a date shown in the date picker, isn't it?  Surely the date will be taken from the EXIF?  Would it be more clear to leave the date picker blank for Capture Time and Modification Time, unless I'm misunderstanding the purpose of this?

Can you post your snapshot?
