Odd characters in IPTC Info
« on: December 28, 2012, 09:12:49 AM »
In checking some of the imported text, I see that characters such as the ñ (n with a tilde) are showing up in the IPTC window as a question mark. I suspect this has to do with the Unicode setting, but I'm not sure exactly which setting(s) need to be adjusted. What do I need to do to fix this?

Where was this text imported from?

It was first exported from a database called Minisis in text format, then imported into excel, then saved in tab-delimited format for import into PM.

Edward,

Did you make the text file UTF-8 text when you saved it?  If not, then if any of the characters had accents on them then they wouldn't have been interpreted correctly.
