PM 5 hang on startup Win8?

Morning Kirk and All,

After downloading and a fresh install of PM 5 on Win 8 no problems...  now hang up on splash screen.  Finally did load, but took forever.  Intel i7 3820 w/32 gigs mem, ATI 7770 and SSD...

Is there a certain/best setup for Win8 and Nikon?  Something in preferences/cache that should be limited?

I tried a search on Windows 8 to look for issues but the search engine will not accept '8'...  need 2 number/letters...

We know of no compatibility issues with Windows 8 and Photo Mechanic: Version 5.  Perhaps you could check your PM.log file for any warning messages (it's in the same place as you have PM set to store its cache.  You can view the path in the Caching section of the Preferences dialog.)
