limit file size

Hi Guys

I can't seem to get the limit file size checkbox to work. I want to save a number of jpgs that are sized at say 2MB to be no bigger than 1MB. I click save selected photos as and click on the limit file size box to 1MB but it doesn't work.

Can you help?
