PM 5.x slow with NFS mounts

Hi,

I'm using PM 5.0, build 15077 and I've noticed that there is quite a 'lag' when opening folders through NFS.
Anyone been having the same problem?

NFS mounts through Finder work as expected - I have 1000Mbps LAN link to the NFS server, noatime etc. are set.

I have same problem.

I use Zyxel 325 NAS with 1000Mbps ethernet and SMB (OSX Mavericks). It takes about 10-15sec to open one pic in PM. And making thumbnails takes about 2-3min. If i use another NAS (lacie network space II) it's work great.. i think it uses afp mount.

Finder etc works great with Zyxel 325 but PM5 not..

It sounds to me that small reads are very slow on your NFS volumes.  When I am back from vacation next week, I'll be happy to look into the problem.

I tested this again.. SMB mount and when i start PM and open a directory, it will take about 1-2min to get thumbnails.. then i try lacie network space II and that is afp mount and it works 100%..

Right now i can't view any my old photos because this is so slow..

Hi Kirk,

What kind of logs you would need to analyze this?
The NFS server I'm using uses ZFS + ARC cache for the files, so the NFS server side should be as fast as it can be.
Browsing files through OS X Finder is just as fast as it can be.

One example of the problem is following:
I open a file and edit it in Photoshop and when I do shift+tab to switch back to PM it takes few seconds before I'm able to actually use PM.
This started with PM 5.X, I've verified that PM 4.x is working properly.

The same 'lag' is also there when opening folders, PM 4.x opens folders like breeze.

Atleast for me the older build seems to be snappier when opening folders, ie. thumbnails load a lot faster on older build.

Yes it is.. i download a new version of PM and the key is working.. i buy this new PM5 about 3 weeks ago..
