The last time I saw any discussion on this was 2007 or 08. At that time it appeared that the feature to keep EXIF with modified (cropped, etc) files being Sent to Email would be added in. The check box suggests exif will be preserved with emailed files. I am on up to date iMac, OSx 10.9.4 and PM 5 15800. Exif is stripped when sending to Mail.
I workaround by saving as (some file size, with crops etc) which does preserve the exif data, then I email this. For me, the keywords in the exif data are important for me not to loose in the emails. If there would be a way to copy the exif data to emailed files I would appreciate that. If it can't be done, perhaps updating the manual to inform new users that sending to email will strip exif data in all cases other than sending an original file.
