Freezing when opening folder/coping images.. Vry SLOW

Help Needed.....

I was having issues with Photo Mechanic not saving my preference settings so I reinstalled the latest upgrade and
ever since when I try do anything with regards opening or coping images it hands and I see the dreaded beach ball...
sometimes i wait 3-4 mins and eventually it will open the folder which may only contain 300-400 images other times
I have to force cancel.... I have never noticed anything like this with PM before ...

I am running Photo Mechanic version 5, build 15800 on OSX 10.9.5  2GHz Intel CORE 16gbRAM

I am going mad.... Please help

Are you trying to open or copy images from an external HD or from your local hard drive?

no just trying to copy them on the Local HD...

It is hard to diagnose such issues over a message board like this.  You'll post a message, I'll see it hours later, then I'll reply, you'll see it hours later, etc.

The spinning wheel starts and is continuous so have to click the X on the top right of the "Browse for Folder" window, it white screens and  closes. I then restart and it runs okay. Just tried it again and the same problem but resolved by restarting.

It has been happening for a few weeks now and thought it might be my Win7 64bit PC.

It is a new build for Windows users only.

The original poster's problem will likely have to be solved by our tech support team.
