Ron,
Hi I seem to be having problems loading the latest version of Photo Mechanic on my MacBook Pro, when I drag the icon onto the Applications alias it says Photo Mechanic 5 already exists when I click on replace I get this message.... The operation can’t be completed because the item “Photo Mechanic 5” is in use. I don't have Photo Mechanic 5 open just the Photo Mechanic 5 Install window? Not sure what I'm doing wrong?
Check with the Activity Monitor and look to see if a Photo Mechanic process is running. If so, quit it. Otherwise, you can rename the current Photo Mechanic app to a different name and then copy the new one to your Applications folder and delete the old one when the application is no longer busy.
There really is no installer on the Mac version. It's just a simple drag and drop copy operation. If the Finder thinks the application or one of its files is busy then you can't replace it.
