Ingesting large, complex iPhoto library
« on: March 17, 2015, 12:36:26 PM »
Is Photo Mechanic applicable for rebuilding a iPhoto library with duplicates listed in several folder levels and some images with existing multiple labels? iPhoto has messed up my library of several thousand images and it needs to be reorganized on a single level.
Currently using OS X 10.10.2, iPhoto 9.6, iMac.
Thanks

Photo Mechanic won't do anything to eliminate duplicates, but it should copy every image in any folder tree that you point its Ingest function towards.  Photo Mechanic does not do anything special to handle iPhoto 'libraries', it just copies files it sees as it follows the folder tree.  You would use the "Ingest Folders" rather than the "Ingest Disks" option in the Ingest dialog.

We offer a 30-day trial so you can give it a try without having to purchase in advance.
