Gear Icon Missing in Task bar
« on: August 07, 2015, 10:28:58 AM »
I am new to photo mechanic as well as being new to a Mac, and after installing photo mechanic on my Mac and dragging the app to the task bar (quick Launch) I no longer get the gear Icon, but a square Icon with a "A" in it.

Is this the new link icon or am I missing something?

Thanks

I'm not sure what version of OSX you're using but that should work. And, in OSX world, I believe you're talking about the "Dock."   When you click the icon with the A on it (I think that's a default "Application" icon") does Photo Mechanic indeed launch? If not....

The way I usually get apps to stay in the dock, is to launch them from the Applications folder, then right click (or control click) the icon in the Dock while the program is open, go to Options and select "Keep in Dock"

Hope this helps,

Mick

Thanks for the reply, the program works and I have docked the application. Just expected to see a gear icon after going through the tutorials. The "A" is not intuitive to me so how do I change it to get the Gear that I am expecting.

As for the OS, I have OS X Yosemite

Thanks again

Try copying the Photo Mechanic from the disk image to your Applications folder again.
