PM creating two folders
« on: September 24, 2015, 06:50:53 AM »
iMac 2.7GHz i5, OS X 10.9.5, Photo Mechanic 5.0 build 16438 (e61be25)

I have a user who is seeing an intermittent problem. When she uses the copy/move function and creates a new folder, it sometimes creates two folders. One folder with the intended name, and the other with the intended name plus a space added at the end. PM successfully moves/adds the photos into the new folder and leaves the other empty.

What other information can I give to help diagnose this?

Hi Dan,

The first thing I'd look to see is a screenshot of the copy/move dialog that was used when this happened. E.g. Is she using any variables in the folder paths?

Also, id she using any OSX Folder actions in her workflow?

Hey Mick,

It's all pretty clean and easy. No folder actions, but the new folder destination is on a remote volume. (A Drobo)

Does the problem happen when copying to a local disk with the same settings?

The problem is intermittent enough that it's difficult to thoroughly test. Will see if it's possible to recreate the issue with a local disk and advise.
