Selecting multiple images
« on: September 18, 2017, 05:23:05 PM »
Let's say hypothetically that I have 100 images on my contact sheet. I select #1 through 20 by selecting 1 and 20  while holding the shift key. OK. Now I want to select #70 through 90. Is there a way to select 70-90 without unselecting the first 20 and without having to select 70-90 one at a time by holding down the command key?

Harvey,

You can't start a new shift selection, but you can 'paint select' by holding down the Command key and drag the mouse over other thumbnails and they'll become selected without losing previous selections.

I use Windows and 'Paint select' as described by Kirk works fine but Ctrl+Shift is faster. In your example I would select the first 20 images as you describe and the second 20 by holding Ctrl+Shift and clicking on image 70, let go of Ctrl (keep Shift pressed), then click on image 90. Assume this works on Mac as well.
