Selected not checked/reflected in LR

I imagine its been asked before but, I'm sorry, I could not find a previous thread.... When I select tagged images in PM, then Ctrl E tp LR, the images I'm requesting are not reflected as such in LR. Has anyone else figured this issue out, or can guide me if it's me? Thoroughly appreciated in advance.

Lightroom does not work well as an "Editor".  Instead, drag your selected images and drop them onto Lightroom and it will show its import dialog with the images selected.
