Upload vs FTP Photos as...

This might be a daft question but...

What if the difference between 'Upload' (via FTP) and 'FTP Photos as...'? They both seem to do the exact same thing.

I'm hoping you tell me they can be set to different snapshots?

Not sure where you're seeing the "(via FTP)" part, but Upload brings up the Upload dialog with the last template you selected.  And "FTP Photos as..." brings up the Upload dialog with the FTP template selected.  If you only ever use the FTP template then there is no effective difference between the two menu commands.

I'm hoping you tell me they can be set to different snapshots?

Only one snapshot per template can be active at once.

I added the (via FTP) so you knew what I was asking about.

I still don't quite understand the between Upload and FTP Photos as...

Both dialog boxes look identical. Am I missing something?

There is a popup menu in the upper left corner of the Upload window that lets you choose which upload service you want to use.  The Upload command just shows the dialog with the last used service.  The FTP Photos as... brings up the same window but always forces that popup menu to select FTP.  If you only ever use FTP and not something else like PhotoShelter, Zenfolio, DFStudio, etc. then there would essentially be no difference in the two commands.

Does that make sense?
