What is the (1) next to IPTC and Copyright in the Browse tab?

There is a (1) next to the IPTC and Copyright items in the Browse tab.  What is it?

It's showing you the count of the items you've selected.  If you close that section of the browse tree, your items still stay selected and this helps you see the path to the selected items.
