New to PMP ... how to get existing HD images into PMP without copying or moving

I’m brand new to PMP and need to get about 20,000 images from my HD into PMP. All the info I can find relates to getting new images off memory cards. I want to ‘ingest’ (interesting word!) these images but not copy or move them from their current location. Is this possible please?
