Xmp not being read for dng/jpg pairs
« on: January 30, 2021, 12:40:34 AM »
I have a DJI Mini 2 drone and take photos in both raw (dng) and jpg. I rated these photos in another program and an xmp file was created with the correct rating of 1 star but PMP shows both the dng and jpg with no stars and also shows a thumbnail for the xmp file.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?  See attachments.

Metadata is expected to be found inside JPEGs and DNGs.  There is no need for an XMP sidecar file for either of those formats so our software ignores sidecar files for them.

It's intentional.  That software should update the metadata in those image files.
