erease source disk after ingest does not work

Hi,

Build 5820 on a MBP 16'' running 11.4. The erease source disk after ingest mode is activated.
It works seamless on Nikon Z6, D6 and everthing else but not with SanDisk CF Express64GB card and Z7II files on it.
I've tried to de- and reactivate the function, but without success. Any idea what causes this problem?

CFExpress cards are identified as fixed disks (like a normal hard drive).  We won't erase what is considered to be a fixed hard drive (too much potential for damage.)

I'm reading there is one CFexpress Type-B card reader that identifies itself as a removable disk, and in theory that would allow PM to ingest, unmount (and erase if so desired) CFexpress Type-B cards same as SD, CF cards.
Brand is Anglebird, and it is available in the photo stores.

I can confirm the Anglebird CFexpress type B card reader (with ProGrade card) identifies as removable disk.
PM was able to ingest, erase source disk and unmount the card same as it used to do before CFexpress cards were invented.

The next build of Photo Mechanic 6 (and Plus) will auto ingest, ingest, erase, and unmount CFExpress type A cards, no matter what reader is involved.

The new build, Photo Mechanic Version 6.0, build 5997 (a13e0cf), although advised that we would be able to format CF Express Cards, still does not in my case. I have a Sandisk CF Express 128GB Type B card used with a Prograde Card Reader and with "Erase Source disk upon ingest" checked, it still maintains the images on the card. :-(

Having waited patiently for the previous news about the ability to format after ingest, its still disheartening to see the matter unresolved. Have reached out to Andrew @ CameraBits for further analysis!

What camera formatted and shot photos and/or video?  There's one Sony model that we won't erase files on because doing so causes problems in-camera when the card is returned to the camera.

Can I get some information from you?

Open a Terminal window (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)

Enter the following after making sure that your camera card is mounted:

ls -alR /Volumes/NIKON

then press the tab key.  It should autocomplete the rest of the name of your card.  Then press enter/return.

Copy and paste the text that is output into a personal message to me.  Or you can post it here.
