Can not email with gmail or outlook

I've been trying to email an image to myself with no luck. I've tried my google account and my outlook account. No luck and same error. ( image file attached).

I also have a smtp section in my email dialog box that I need help with. There are no SMTP references in the help system when searching. Is there a step by step process for setting up email?

You need to enter a valid SMTP server address, and your login name and password that you use to access that server.

If you don't have one, then you cannot send email from Photo Mechanic 6 on Windows.

I had a similar problem trying to use Gmail to send photos on my PC. Here's what worked for me.

Go to "Accounts.Google.com"
On the left side of the page, click "Security"
Then, "Signing into Google"
Then, "2-Step Verification" and follow the prompts.
Return to the Security menu.
Look for "Less Secure Apps" section and ensure that it is selected "ON".
IMPORTANT-Review the associated security risks with selecting this option to ON. Consider turning it back OFF when you are done uploading.

(BTW, the setting for "Less Secure Apps" will only appear if 2-Factor Authentication is already turned OFF)

On the PM application, when you click "File" and then "Send Photos via Email", ensure that you are actually using your email provider's 'outgoing' SMTP settings.

We also restored the MAPI functionality recently so if you have a MAPI-compatible email client you can use that instead of providing a SMTP server.

Thunderbird works great for this.  It is MAPI compatable.
