Injectable photos
« on: November 17, 2021, 04:55:25 AM »

Hello
On the 18 000 photos JPG of my catalog, 10 have the green point; I wish to throw them away (I have them under another name)
But I can't do anything because they are considered as being on a remote disk.
I recently sold one of my computers which is maybe the cause of this failure.

What can I do? I have scanned and synchronized the catalog with no result.

(Mac M1 Monterey everything is up to date)

The green catalog status indicator means that the image is online.  When you say that you wish to throw them away, what operation are you trying to do, and what kind of error message do you receive?

Sorry with "remote from catalog" it's ok (I tried command-delete)
But the images concerned are still not found, which doesn't bother me.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand.  You're using the "Remove from Catalog" command or something else?

Hello
Photos that had a green dot were not found on both the Mac and my NAS. So I tried to destroy them which didn't work; on the other hand when I asked to remove them from the catalog they have disappeared. It remains to be seen if they will return during a scan or sync. Thank you

If you right-click on one of these green dot photos and choose "Reveal in Finder" does the Finder show that image?

I'd like to see your Photo Mechanic log.  In Photo Mechanic Plus go to the Help menu and choose "Reveal Support Data..." and moments later a Finder window will come forward with the zipped log file selected.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your zipped PM log file.

Thanks,

-Kirk

Soizic,

Thank you.  I'm sorry it took so long to respond.  I was on vacation for the past week.

Can you tell me the names of the ten images that you were having trouble?

Also, it appears that your Default Catalog has been deleted but Photo Mechanic Plus still thinks you want to work with it.  Is it listed in the Catalog Management window?  If so, you should expand it in the "Local Catalogs" section and click the "Forget" button to remove it from the list.

Hello

The photos had names starting with _ALP, the only ones.
I never used the default catalog, I deleted it after seeing a post in the forum.
I just made it forget in the management.

Thanks for your help

Thank you.  I see no filenames in that have _ALP anywhere in there name in any of the logs.

So I don't know what to suggest to you.
