Customize keyboard shortcuts for color rating

I would like to request the ability to customize the keyboard shortcuts for color labeling in Photo Mechanic, beyond the options that are currently available. For example, I'd like the ability to label an image purple by hitting the key P.

This would be a huge help and match my other culling software that I use in tandem with Photo Mechanic. Hope this feature becomes available soon!

This used to be possible. Finally after the bug pause I have several jobs to edit and I just discovered my preferences have been reset. WTH!!!

This totally screws my workflow.

Any workaround or is a setting that I am just missing?

Complete customization of keyboard shortcuts has never been possible within Photo Mechanic (although I believe OS settings allow you to remap keys if you want). However, you can change whether your number keys set a Color Class or Star rating in Accessibility Preferences: https://docs.camerabits.com/support/solutions/articles/48001146204-accessibility-preferences

Different app maybe.

It should definitely be a thing tho! I had the (?) for RED, the (.) for GREEN and the (') for GREY. One handed culling.....super fast.

Note: I do one-handed culling with the single key shortcuts as they currently exist -- it's actually designed to be already possible to do one-handed.

That's interesting!  How is that done. What keys are you using to advance to the next photo? I assume this must be let hand only as well correct?

I use a full-sized keyboard with a number pad, which might give me an advantage. But, in the preferences for the Preview window, I have Photo Mechanic set to advance to the next photo automatically when the rating or color class is changed.  So, it's a right-hand process for me.  Fingers on the number pad, with my thumb on the arrow keys if I need to do additional navigation.

(If you don't have a full-size keyboard, USB number pads can be found under USD$10)

Ahhh......OK. Makes sense now. I haven't used a full size KB in years to so that option didn't enter my brain.
