Replace existing fills with Smugmug uploader bug?
« on: March 14, 2022, 04:22:40 PM »
Not sure if this is a problem with PM's uploader or on Smugmug's side but I just uploaded some re edited photos to Smugmug with the PM uploader and had it set to replace existing files with the same file name and the files weren't replaced, the files had the same name except the extension when uploaded in 2019 was JPG all capital letters and the replacement files just uploaded today the extension was jpg all lower case so the files were not replaced. Is there a way when uploading the case can be ignored? Not a big deal I can delete the older files on Smugmug, just wondering if case can be ignored.   I never thought to check the case of the names, next time I will and make sure they match.

Sounds like Smugmug is using a case-sensitive file system to store your photos.  If two files only vary on the case of their extension, then the two files can happily coexist.

I doubt that the case can be ignored on our end.

Thanks can't remember what uploader I used in 2019 that put the JPG in uppercase but I only use the PM uploader now, so I shouldn't run into that problem anymore
