Stars keyboard shortcuts not working (French keyboard)

Working on MacBook Pro (OS Monterey 12.4) with a French keyboard (AZERTY) and English as default system language.

When viewing a picture, the keys 1, 2, 3 4 and 5 do not star the picture as "1 star", "2 stars" etc...but it attribute colors to the picture. (1 is red, 2 is yellow, 3 is green...).
On the French AZERTY keyboard, I need to press the "Shift" key to have a "1" when I press "1", otherwise I get a "&".
If I do Shift+"1", star rating does not change (nothing change, in fact).

I'm pretty sure I'm missing something...somewhere...any help would be appreciated.

You can control whether pressing a number key gives a star rating or a color label using the Single key shortcut setting in Accessibility in Photo Mechanic's preferences: https://docs.camerabits.com/support/solutions/articles/48001146204-accessibility-preferences

Does changing this setting fix this issue for you?
