Meaning of "local files missing"

Received a message to perform database management. The reintegration report noted that I had "816 local files missing." What, exactly, does that mean?

It means that the files are not available from the location where they were added to the catalog. This may be due to the hard drive that stores the source files being offline, or because the files were moved from the location that they were in when added to the catalog. You can run a Catalog Sync to create a Collection based on why they are missing.
