Filter doesn't show all fotos

Hey,


I'm using Photo Mechanic Plus Version 6.0, build 6784 (409cf99) on a Mac Studio (Mac13,1 - 2022 - Apple M1 Max - 64 GB RAM) running macOS Ventura Version 13.5.

I have created a catalog with around 1,800 fotos & videos in it.
I have added the IPTC tag "Image Content - Persons shown" to a couple of fotos.
I also defined a keyword and assigned it to a few of others fotos.

My problem: Filtering for this specific IPTC tag (Image Content - Persons shown) or the above mentioned keyword reveals only a couple of the fotos having the specific IPTC tag / keyword - and I know there are more fotos that should be shown.

As soon as I preview one of the missing fotos that have the specific IPTC tag / keyword it appears in the filter - but only after previewing it.

It looks like the two filters has somehow stopped searching for other fotos that fulfill the filtering criteria.

What do I do wrong?

Hello Vlad,

I was able to test your workflow on an iMac running Ventura 13.5. So far I am not able to recreate your problem of having to Preview the image before it will be part of the Filter results. I added a new keyword to a dozen images in my Test catalog. Next I opened the Organizer and clicked the Filter Tab. I clicked the New button and then picked the IPTC option from the pull down menu and then the Keywords option. As I typed my new keyword in the Find field the list below updated with each new letter entered. The keyword I entered was selected at the bottom of the list. Clicking this entry opens a new contact sheet with a Filter tab, showing the images with the newly added keyword. I have attached a screen shot of one of these Filter tests.  Does this match how you are using the Filter tab?

Yes, that's how I also use the filter and the search tab too.
The only thing that is different on my side is that after the new contact sheet opens it contains NOT ALL of the fotos with this keyword.

Here is an example with the keyword "Mahlzeit".
The first screenshot shows the 6 fotos that the search shows.
The second screenshot is the same for the filter instead of search.
The third screenshot shows 3 fotos that have this keyword too but don't appear in the result of search / filter. This screenshot shows also my setting for showing the keywords in the contact sheet.
The forth screenshot shows the Metadata (Info) IPTC window for one of the 3 missing fotos.

The same is true for the IPTC tag "Image Content - Persons shown".
