Video & XMP
« on: February 22, 2024, 04:58:20 AM »
Here'e the problem.  When I try to upload a .MOV ( or any video ) to Getty Images from PM, it is not recognized as a .MOV file.  I think that is because an XMP file has been attached by PM(?) and I haven't found a way to remove the XMP from the PM file.  I also haven't found a way to not generate the XMP in preferences.  If I drag the file to the desktop it will upload just fine but the Metadata are lost.  So any and all help will be appreciated

How are you uploading it? What software isn't recognizing it? What indication does it give that the file isn't recognized

There isn't one. If Photo Mechanic Ingests a video file or updates its metadata, it will do so in the XMP file. The XMP file is a completely separate file and there would be no way this file could prevent viewing the video file itself.
