How do I set the file type I want to filter to?
« on: November 11, 2024, 12:25:46 PM »
Win 11, Photo Mechanic Plus 6.0.

I have opened a folder in a contact sheet. I can see the images (Canon RAW .CR3 and videos .MP4s) from the folder. I can change metadata and stuff so I know the connection is fine.

When I open the 'Filter' side panel under organise, I can choose file type but then nothing after that. I cannot specify CR3, to only see CR3 files. Maybe I am missing something? This is my first time using PMP.

It looks like your catalog needs maintenance.  I think if you do the maintenance task(s) you'll start seeing types listed that you'll be able to filter.

I did that and now I can filter the content I add in a catalog. Is there a way to filter content from just a contact sheet? Or does the filter only with with media that has been added to the catalog?

Only with the items contained in the catalog(s).

Is there a way to make a catalogue of an existing folder instead of having to copy over the images again to a new location? I have my own import workflow that I don't want to change.

You don't have to copy any files in order to add images to a catalog.
