I use the NAS folders to hold older files / photos etc. My network was updated to 10G this year which has greatly improved file access. Today I had COP open and changed a few of the file ratings and colours to be examined more later. PM was opened to the same folder showing the same files but never updated to reflect the changes I performed in COP. A little testing when I changed the same feature in PM the XMP file was not updated but when performing the same changes in COP the XMP file showed the changes. PM was not updating the XMP file.
Did the same test with photos on the local drive, and the XMP gets changed each time by either program, proves it's not a setting problem but more of a network problem. One last test knowing what I know now, and I changed one file color + rating and PM did update the XMP file once and only once. Did not do it again, but COP had no issues writing the same XMP.
Is this a NAS problem or a PM problem ?? The NAS has mountable folders in SMB3 protocol. Is there a setting I need to make this work. You know these Macs don't have big SSD so having folders on a NAS readily available is a nice feature.
