Select RAW Files is always greyed out
« on: November 23, 2025, 10:53:33 AM »
I thought it was greyed out for DNG files but today I had a folder of 3FR ones needed to ne converted to DNG and it was still greyed out.  PMP knew they are RAW because it moved them together with their XMP sidecars when I moved them into a subfolder after converting to DNG.  How do I get that very useful menu item to actually select all the RAW files, including DNGs, in the current view?

Also, when I have only DNG and XMP files, PMP does not collate them together.  Leica and Pentax support DNG natively.  For Leica it is their RAW format, and for Pentax it is configurable.  Please have an option to treat DNGs as full fledged RAWs.

PM does treat DNGs as RAW files.  They are RAW files.  They also, by specification, are capable of hosting XMP within them and by default PM expects XMP for DNGs to be embedded.  However, the latest builds of PM.2025 are capable of attaching and using XMP sidecar files with DNG files.  See the IPTC/XMP page of the Settings dialog to change this behavior.

So why is Select RAW Photos always grayed out when I actually have DNG files in the contact sheet?

Your RAW and JPEG images are paired.  They cannot be selected independently so the command is disabled.  Turn off "Combined Images" from the View menu and the command should show as enabled.
