troubleshooting travel workflow with PM and LrC

Am traveling with my MacBook Pro and trying to figure out a mobile workflow (main LR catalog is on desktop Mac where I use PhotoMechanic for ingesting & color labeling then subsequently import the ingested photos into LR with no issues).

I transferred images from the camera SD card to a SSD drive. Then I opened a contact sheet in PM with the SSD (didn't ingest because I don't need to move them). Color tagged images (after setting the PM prefs for color classes to Adobe LR). In LrC, I then imported the images from the SSD but the color tags aren't showing (I do see the XMPs created by PM on the SSD). Tried syncing the metadata again but no change. When I open the contact sheet again in PM, the tags still display. Any idea why LrC isn't reading the tags?

It probably is reading them, but they may not match what you have currently set in LrC.  The Adobe LR settings in PM's snapshot menu are the defaults and will only work if LrC is still using the defaults.  Have you changed the label names in LrC from the defaults?
