Secondary image processor launching shortcut
« on: March 29, 2026, 09:10:08 AM »
How do I assign another launching shortcut in Photo Mechanic to hand over files to a secondary image processor.

E (and ⌘E) are currently assigned to Photoshop (Camera Raw) for Canon CR3 images.

I have written another pipeline that uses the headless DxO PureRaw 6 RAW image render in the background (via macros and Applescript launcher)  which then opens in ACR with all the baked in goodies of DxO and none of the Adobe presets, I just need to find a way to choose which trigger method to use in Photo Mechanic.

Willie,

Please see: https://docs.camerabits.com/support/solutions/articles/48001145596-launching-preferences
Specifically, the paragraph: "Assign Specific Application to File Type"

You can assign up to ten editors that are not specific to any file type.  You can then use the Edit Photo(s) with submenu on the contextual menu (right click on a photo or a selection of photos) and choose from the list of editors that you've set.

HTH,

-Kirk

Thanks Kirk,

I scrolled the "Assign Specific Application to File Type" to .CR3 but not all the way to the bottom where you have the custom editor slots. All sorted now.
