where are the settings stored for the Preferences?

I would like to configure one PC and copy over to the Laptop after I get things the way I liked

I was hoping the export on Preferences window but it does not seem to actually export the preferences

On Windows, the large majority of the preferences are stored in the Registry.  The Export button from the Preferences dialog mostly exports just the IPTC categories.

Would it be possible to have a 'snapshot' taken of the preference dialoge?

I plan to add a preferences migration tool at some point that will allow non-machine-specific preferences to be exported from one system and imported onto another system.
