When you purchase a Photo Mechanic license, you get the version you purchased and any versions that come out within a year from the date of your purchase.  When your year of updates expires, your then current version of Photo Mechanic will continue to run indefinitely.  Photo Mechanic does not contain some sort of time limit that forces you to pay for new versions.  If you're happy with what you've got, you never have to pay again.
