Upload error

Hi Kirk,
The upload function has just stopped working on 4.5.3.1 and gives the following error message:

Error initializing the File Uploader Dialog. The error was: #<NoMethodError: undefined method `[]' for false:FalseClass>     (eval):410:in `fetch'     (eval):937:in `perform_restore_state'     (eval):1388:in `restore_state'     (eval):467:in `restore_controls_state'

Have reinstalled the application but get the same error on MBP, OSX 10.4.11, 1 GB RAM.

Please advise. Thanks.

First, quit Photo Mechanic.
Next open up the following path in the Finder:

<your home folder>/Library/Preferences/com.camerabits.PhotoMechanic/fileupload/templates/builtin/

Then remove all of the ".yml" files that don't end in "-conn.yml".  For me that list would be:

DRR.yml
PhotoShelter.yml
PhotoShelterCollection.yml

And then start Photo Mechanic again.  The settings should reset to their defaults and the error will likely go away.

Followed your instructions to delete the .yml files and left the following:

PhotoShelterCollection-conn.yml
PhotoShelter-conn.yml
MaxPreps-conn.yml
DRR-conn.yml

However I still get the same error message as before.

Any other suggestions?

Could you archive up the following path and send it to us?

<your home folder>/Library/Preferences/com.camerabits.PhotoMechanic/fileupload

You can right-click on the folder and choose Archive and the Finder will create a zip archive for you.  Contact me privately for an email address to send the archive as an attachment.
