I would like a kiosk mode like in IE so that I can lock a the viewer to one folder and sub folders on my server but go no higher up than the named folder

OK, but even if we did just that, there is a lot of things a user could do to cause havoc to your files.  They could rename, tag, color class, caption, delete, crop, rotate, print, FTP upload, Burn photos to CD/DVD, etc.

Are you sure all you want in a kiosk mode is what you've asked for?
