Picture capture date
« on: August 15, 2008, 02:24:20 PM »
I have many pictures that were taken before 1971 and that I have scanned. Some as early as 1920 that my grandfather took. I would like to modify the capture date to be the time the original was taken but it seems that I cannot have a date before 1971. Is there a way round this problem?

I am using version 4.5.3.2 on a MacBook Pro with all the latest updates (Mac OS X Version 10.5.4) and 3 GB of memory.

No, not currently.

I'll try to address this in the 4.6 version.

nickrr,

I have the same problem with family photos that go back at least into the 1930s (and if I have some older prints scanned--the negatives are long gone--the creation dates go back probably to the turn of the 20th Century).  I look forward to 4.6.

Kirk, I second the motion for pre-1971 dating.  I have many old photos, and if I can't date them, the program (which I'm demo-ing) will have limited utility to me.  The most recent beta still has the 1971 limitation.   Thanks. :-\

In these earlier posts you said 4.6 would have a more flexible date stamp operation, so it can work prior to 1971.  I am using 4..61 beta and it's still stopping at  1971.  Have some old family photos from 1952, which turned out to be so historically significant that I did a news story on it, so would like to be able to code them properly.

Also :-)  you only have to go back to the first daguerreotype  in 1839, not  the year 1. :-)

Thanks

Robin
