How to see color mode as a list
« on: May 14, 2009, 11:29:43 AM »
Hi,

I publish some papers and I would like to see in a list which pics are RGB and which are CMYK. Is there any easy way to see this as a list or variable?

Cheers,
Hilmar

There is no variable that lists this information.

As Kirk indicated, not with PM itself. Exiftool, however, could be used to list the colour mode of the image.

There are different fields that give you information on the colour mode of the image. Not all of them may be present in all types of images. Perhaps the most direct fields are "Photometric Interpretation" and "Color Space Data".

Hope this helps.

What about the variable {ICC}. Does this only show color space profile and not color mode (i.e., CMYK vs RGB)?

{ICC} does indeed only list the name of the colour profile, not the mode. But as we (normally) use distinctly named CMYK profiles, {ICC} could indeed be used to infer the mode!

Good thinking.
