PM and Thunderbird: MAPI error -2147467259

Hi,
suddenly PM (up to date) does not send pics via Thunderbird (2..0.22), Vista 64bit
 I get the message:
"Unable to connect to MAPI...  Failed to logon to MAPI using a shared session, Error: -2147467259
Everthing worked fine 'till yesterday. Except default Vista updates, I did not touch the system.
I started Windows Mail and let it made itself default for mail, then I startet Thunderbird again and made it default mail app, but nothing changed.

Any suggestions?

Thunderbird is known to have MAPI issues, by the development team's own admission.  You should be able to keep Thunderbird as your default mail application but still use Windows Mail as your MAPI client.  Contact our support folks at 503-547-2888 for direct assistance in this matter.

Specifically, check comment #13 for the patch.  The patch as is won't work for 64-bit Vista systems however.  It needs a slight modification.  If any 64-bit Vista users want to try, I'll modify the RegEdit patch for you.
