Photo seq # in Group ?
« on: August 22, 2009, 11:30:09 AM »
When I take photos and rename/sequence them the filenames/numbers stay forever just in case I have to use something later. So, for example, of 1,500 wedding photos, 500 go on the web as proofs. SmugMug displays the caption and not the filename, which could be be long and truncated on some displays anyways.

So, the client sees photo #s 1-500, contiguous. The say they like photo # 263, which is really Smith_Wedding_0712.nef. I can use the filters, ratings, etc. to get the group of 500 I want on the screen. But I would love to have something that showed me which photo in a display group that I'm viewing, like "image 263 of 500 displayed" so I can select, tag, re-rate, edit, etc. The 500 become 200, and new selections will be based on x of 200, while the filenames never change. So file # 263 of 500 may become # 117 of 200, while retaining Smith_Wedding_0712.nef.

Just looking to know what number photo in the current sequence I'm viewing (out of what's displayed).

Thanks,
