NEF star ratings and Expression Media

I have my IPTC/XMP settings as recommended in the User Guide to work with Capture NX2. I just purchased Expression Media 2 to use for cataloging and am finding some inconsistencies when changing star ratings for NEF files:
1. Changing star rating in PM - change seen in EM.
2. Changing star rating in EM - PM shows old rating

I guess that EM is writing this value to a different place in the file and PM is not seeing it.

Are there some PM settings to make PM, EM and NX2 play nice together?

You need to get EM to update the XMP metadata.  I don't know what setting in EM controls this, but hopefully you'll find it.
