Variable replace failure with ftp

I was trying out the ftp feature and discovered the following incorrect (I presume) behaviour.

I had a set of photos, both raw (cr2) and jpegs.  As well, I had a full set of coresponding xmp files.  They were all in the same directory.  I tried using the ftp feature to transfer these to my network attached storage (which includes an ftp server).  I chose to send both the RAW and JPEG files.  I chose that they were to be copied into a dated folder.  The raw and jpeg files ended up in the destination folder /shared/photos/test/20091206/  The xmp files ended up in the folder /shared/photos/test/{todaysort}/  That is, the {todaysort} variable was not replaced by 20091206 for the xmp file directory.

I am running PM version 4.6.2.2 (beta) on windows xp (service pack 3).  I did not rename the files on tranmission nor did I apply the IPTC stationary.  While I don't think my NAS is relevant, it is a 1TB Western Digital "My Book World Edition".

Is this what you are looking for?  I didn't know how to get a directory listing I could post with windows so I used DOS and redirected it to a txt file.  I manually added some space for clarity in the first few entries.

Yes, it was.  Thanks.  Could you also post a JPEG screenshot of your thumbnails selected in the contact sheet just prior to uploading them via FTP?  I want to be certain that your XMP sidecar files are not somehow being orphaned from their associated CR2 files.

I redid my ftp test this morning; same result (but a different "today date").

I have attached a screen shot of the selected thumbnails and the ftp log.

Thanks for the screen shot.  I'm able to reproduce the problem and we're working on a fix.

PM version 4.6.2.2 (beta) (with Widow xp sp3) took care of the problem I originally reported.  Thank you.  However, today I tried a somewhat more complicated upload path:

/Public/photos/{year4}/{month0}/{day0}-{headline}/

where my IPTC headline was (for example): Snowshoeing in the Petawawa Research Forest

(The IPTC data had been previously written; it was not being added on FTPing.  My scource directory contained only jpegs, no raw or xmp files.)

My photos ended up in

/Public/photos/2010/01/04-{headline}

That is, {headline} was not replaced.  This same behaviour occured for several sets of photos with different headlines, but all headlines comprised multiple words and spaces.

I was able to reproduce this and fix it as well.  Thanks for following up.

The fix will appear in the next update to 4.6.2.2.
