How to exclude some fields from the copy command

Hello,

I keep the original file number in the Object Name field. I noticed that when I use the Copy command in the info box, it copies everything so when I paste it in the next picture the original file number gets overwritten. How do I tell it to exclude the Object Name field when copying?

You can't.  Copy 'copies' everything in every field.  Paste overwrites every field with what has been copied.

I have no workaround for you other than to use the IPTC Stationery Pad to fix them up afterward.
