From the release notes of beta 1:
Extended range ISO values (Lo and Hi) for Nikon cameras such as the D3S are now recognized to derive high (and low) {iso} values such as 102,400

Excellent! I can confirm this indeed works much much better than before and I now do get correct ISO information shot with lo/hi settings on e.g. my D3.

I still don't get the correct value for the hi setting (ISO6400) on my D200 though, so the new algorithm isn't complete yet... Hope it can get extended to cover these instances too.

What value is displayed in that case?

What value is displayed in that case?

In fact nothing gets displayed (just as before with the D3 hi/lo ISO settings).

Perhaps helpful, here's the info exiftool shows in this case:
ISO                             : Hi 3200
ISO Setting                     : 1 3200

Oh, and if you need an example file, just let me know and I'll upload one.

Thanks,
    Hayo

Please do, just in case Dennis needs one.  Thanks.

I've attached a much comressed JPG of an image shot at ISO hi 1 (which corresponds to ISO3200, not the ISO6400 I mentioned earlier; the d200 is not even capable of that  ::)). The JPG should contain all relevant exif info .

Hope this helps you fix the issue,

Hayo,

Thanks - I think I have a fix but haven't been able to verify on all D200 (or D300) settings.  It works for the photo you posted.  We will verify these cameras but if you see anything not right then let me know (e.g. lo setting).  Nikon Capture NX shows your file as ISO 1600 + 1 EV - IOW it isn't really a "calibrated" 3200 ISO shot (I don't think?).

I'll send you a link to the fix for this specific issue.

Thanks,

To let everyone know and after limited testing, the version Dennis sent me indeed fixes the display of the hi ISO setting for the D200 (the display of the D3 boosted ISO levels where correct already).

Nikon Capture NX shows your file as ISO 1600 + 1 EV - IOW it isn't really a "calibrated" 3200 ISO shot (I don't think?).

Dennis, that is correct: according to Nikon the hi (and lo) ISO settings of their cameras are indeed "not calibrated" (that's also why you will generally only see mention of the "normal" ISO range, perhaps with a note to the "boosted" range)

Thanks,
